Ascent Trip Report

Parking was at a public TH on the N side of the road at the High Point exit. Then walk a railroad grade for a bit and turn uphill on a nice real trail. For the ascent, we opted to go cross country from about 800' to the top and tried to stay on county property and avoid private property. Not horrible but some brush. There are two bumps and they are actually reasonably distinct once on top of each bump. We liked the NE bump for the winner but who knows? The descent route involved dropping to the road that is W of the N contender and then walked this road past a gate. This gate says something like Authorized Access only. As one proceeds downhill, you pass several fancy homes until hitting an area where the trail crosses this road -- Grand Ridge Drive. You could park here or take the trails up to here and do the peak this way which is shorter and more pleasant but might be somewhat questionable for access. Currently, the peak can be done without going into anyone's personal space, so to speak.
