Ascent Trip ReportAn easy trail/bushwack from the south side ..... 1.8 miles, 45 minutes RT.
I approached from the south side, Beach Trail TH on hwy 106 .... it is .7 miles east to the causeway at Lake Welch or 1.2 miles west to Seven Lakes Road, parking is available on both sides of the road.
I hiked north on the Beach Trail for about .6 miles to a small cairn on the left, an obscure trail that heads nb needs be ignored (I checked it out and it stays nb). From the cairn I bushwacked westbound (always looking for the highground/easyway) about .3 miles to the obvious wooded summit ...... at a number of large rocks, my GPS at my chosen spot read 41.23886, 74.09187. The woods are very open and the going is easy, some rock.
"THERE IS NO SOUND LIKE THAT OF THE WOODS."
