Ascent Trip ReportModerate trail with some steep rocky sections ....... 8.6 miles, 5 1/2 hours RT.
I used Gary Fallesen's directions. From the Long Path (LP) TH (hwy 32 north of Woodbury at north side of the RR Trestle on Falls Road) I followed the LP nb over High Point to the main ridge then (right) Jessup Trail to the summit of Schennemunk. I returned the same way. This is a moderate route with a number of steep rocky sections in a beautiful all Oak Forest.
The RR Trestle is 4.1 miles north of hwy intersection 6/32 (I87, exit 16, Highland Mills).
