Ascent Trip ReportGreat easy hike on a beautiful day. This trail system and the guide book can be a bit confusing without actually being there and learning through experience. From the Hogtown trailhead it was 1.6 miles to Dacy Clearing and from there it was another 1.8 to the summit of Sleeping Beauty.
The hike up the road to Dacy Clearing was pretty easy and pleasant. The next section of trail up to the summit was a little wet and muddy in spots, but was in great shape and easy to follow otherwise. We saw many people on the trail, though the summit was pretty quiet. The weather was gorgeous the whole day and we spent over a half an hour sitting on top taking in the views and watching what looked like 3 hawks circling the woods below. Great day!
