Ascent Trip ReportSet off at about 9AM, it was colder than I was expecting, and more snow than I planned for. I forded the stream on a fallen tree. The initial ascent between the two stream fordings was lovely, I had to pause for a few phone calls but that was ok. After the trail passes the ski trail viewpoint it steepened.
The summit cone was steep and snowy, I postholed up to my upper thigh many times. Summit was foggy. Postholed even more on the way back down. The long straight slope paralleling the ski slope was a combination of sliding, jogging, and occasionally postholing through. Wished I had skis or a snowboard on the descent. Back to the car at about 2:30 after fielding a few more phone calls.
