Ascent Trip Reportw Monica, Emily, Julie, Jim, David, Paul, and Susan. Up Nineteen Mile Brook and down the ski trails. What a great day to be in the mountains - warmish temperatures, little wind, and blue skies. Got a late start because I forgot how far the trailhead is from my house but it worked out perfectly - got to spend a little time at the hut and didn't get to the top of the ski area until about 4:30 PM. Just as we arrived the last of the ski patrol was leaving and they told us to have a good time. There would be no Wildcat Eight on this day. There were some spoon sleds, a couple of swiss bins/mountain missiles, and two zipfys. A few of us were veterans of sledfest events but for most this was their first time. The sledding was perfect. We sledded down 2.5 miles of ski trails and reached a maximum speed of 32.6 MPH. There will be more of this events in April.
