Conditions were good. Typical spring conditions below and on the way up. Mixed trail and snow. Switch backs on the upper side still have 14-24'' of snow on them. Up top the snow started to soften and snow shoes are most likely needed on the way to the summit from the saddle.

Turned around because my dog went off a very steep ledge. I had to coax him back to the top because it was too steep to follow up him. The snow in this spot was deeper than waist deep and didn't look stable. When he was back to the top of the saddle, he had burned through all the daylight and was beat. We had to go back : (
