Ascent Trip ReportRecipe for a great hike.
Ingredients:
3 mountains (Wittenberg, Cornell, Slide)
9 awesome hikers (ValleyGirlHikes, niceguyted, FatVegan, katiebear, SSmonte283, DevilishDor, Halia & Flammeus and myself)
2 dogs (Iske and Lily)
18 snowshoes
1 glorious day
Start with flurries, slowly switch to sunshine. Climb 2.5 hours, howl back at wind. Celebrate, gasp in wonder, consume warm beverage for 10 minutes.
Continue west. Apply crampons briefly for 3 minutes while ascending Cornell Crack. Digest peak #2.
Bid farewell to 2 friends and 2 canines. Continue west, break trail through sparkling powder. Search for unseen ladders; scale snow-covered rock. Freeze face in awestruck expression while viewing endless panorama.
Summit Slide. Mix more warm beverage with laughter. Saunter and glide downhill approx. 2.8 miles. Let mixture settle and marinate overnight. Serve warm.
