Ascent Trip ReportMy second visit, my soon-to-be wife's first. Parked at Peppersauce Canyon and walked the series of roads to Rice Peak itself, then down to the two HP areas. The north slopes were underneath about 18 inches of snow, which helped mitigate the brush, but made finding a register impossible. We walked everywhere, and leaving tracks in the snow helped us see our progress. We had to have crossed that magic line somewhere! The rock outcrop to the north was easy to get to, and more "obvious".
