Ascent Trip Reportconditioning trip in preparation for Ecuador. trying to get at least 1K vertical weekly. Valley Way from Rt 2. cold, windy, threatening clouds in west. trail packed nicely up to tentsite. drifted over up to 2.5ft. above and packed trail difficult to stay on - many post-holes hip deep.above timberline good traveling but wind picked up bringing squalls, less than 100m visibility and very cold - facemask and goggles. turned back within sight of thunderstorm junction
