Ascent Trip Report02-12-2011: Part of a four day trip with the Type 1 ALCO SAR Team for winter training. Camped at Indian Cove, Joshua Tree, CA. Took Tram from 2643' to Mountain Station at 10,834'. Approx. 6 mile round trip to summit via the newly named ALCO Direct Route. A perfect t-shirt day of winter climbing with little to no wind, clear sky, and good team mates. Icy conditions in the steeper shaded areas and softer snow in the exposed areas made for ever changing travel conditions. Great views from the summit!
