Ascent Trip Report

Sunrise hike up the Zeacliff starting out just before six am. Outside temperature when we left was -16ºF without wind chill. It was a grueling ascent, mainly because the mountaineering boots I was wearing felt like they weighed several tons. Then trail up was very steep, and it was dark enough that we needed to use headlamps until we were most of the way up to the summit. We reached the viewpoint atop Zeacliff a few minutes before sunrise, and stood there for around half an hour to watch the sunrise.
