Ascent Trip Report

I was going to do several dumpsters but the weather was lame and I was lame so I bailed after one. Park to the SSW of the peak at a logging gate along the North Fork Snoqualmie Road. Walk this gated road until the mapped 4WD road turns off. Hike this to about 1600' where you come to a fork of sorts where the mapped road switchbacks flat to the NE. Instead I continued straight on an unmapped road that pretty much died right away. From here it was through past logging terrain up to the fairly distinct summit. No difficulties but no pleasures either. Not worth doing except for exercise and/or a King County P400. Sammy the corgi liked neither the off-trail portion nor the rain. Oh well. I was gonna go do Destitution but that looked like a bushwhack and Black Devil looked a little far and Fuller looked a little far and I hate the rain. I'm a wuss.

This is an interesting distinct mtn as it has a slope on one side and a cliff on the other. And it is shaved except for some trees along the ridge which I guess give the appearance of being a Lion's mane. I can buy it.
