Ascent of Peak 2950 on 2010-11-26
|Date:||Friday, November 26, 2010|
|Ascent Type:||Successful Summit Attained|
| Elevation:||2950 ft / 899 m|
Ascent Trip ReportI approached Peak 2950 from Hwy 62. Just south of Shady Cove, I turned east on Indian Creek Road. At 1.6 miles from the highway, I turned south on a BLM road that crossed a new concrete bridge across the creek. I stayed left at a fork and parked at a locked yellow gate .6 mile from Indian Creek Road. I hiked around the gate and up the road towards Peak 2950. I stayed on the road for about 1.5 miles at it gained some elevation and kept heading directly at Peak 2950. At a little saddle where the road turns eastward, I left the road and hiked through the forest up to the summit. There was some brush here and the trees are kind of small. The summit has no views because of the forest and brush. My GPS was handy finding my way back to the road.
