|Date:||Friday, November 19, 2010|
|Ascent Type:||Successful Summit Attained|
| Elevation:||2880 ft / 877 m|
Ascent Trip ReportI approached Peak 2900 from Hwy 62 and the road the goes up to the dam for Lost Creek Lake. I think this is called Takelma Drive. I drove past the lake and 3.4 miles past the end of the pavement, I turned down onto an old abandoned road that has a fire pit in the turn around. I parked here and hiked down the road. I crossed a littel creek and then a little further along this old road forks. Thr right fork crosses a creek and heads off towards Fawn Butte. The left fork goes uphill and then switchbacks up the southwest ridge of Peak 2900. I followed the road until it switchbacked again and then ended. I then just found a game trail up towards peak 2900 and I followed it up a steep slope. It reached the ridgeline and I followed the ridge over a few minor bumps before getting to the base of Peak 2900. I climbed this last steep slope to the summit. Good views of Lost Creek Lake from the summit.
