Ascent of Peak 3040 on 2010-11-17
|Date:||Wednesday, November 17, 2010|
|Ascent Type:||Successful Summit Attained|
| Elevation:||3040 ft / 926 m|
Ascent Trip ReportI approached peak 3060 from West Evans Creek Road and Dutch Creek Road. I turned up a minor BLM road 34-4-1.2 and drove up to where it ended in a trash pile. I hiked beyond the trash pile following an old road bed for a ways and then entered the brush. I climbed a steep hill with lots of down trees from and old thinning project and eventually reached the ridgeline. On the ridgeline there is an old logging road and I followed this down to the saddle just north of the peak. From the saddle, I climbed the north ridge through the brush and downed trees. No views because of the brush and trees and the smoke from a controlled burn.
