Ascent Trip ReportI was not expecting to get this peak today but with favorable road conditions and lots of time left over after Monahan and Loser this was the obvious icing on the dumpster cake. We came in from the N via FS 5484 and a road that might or might not have been FS (5484)114. It's the road system on the map and the roads we walked were the obvious path you would take while following those roads to get to the top. I was nervous about the dusting of snow on the road and so we pulled to a stop at 3400'. The road above here seemed to be in good shape and looked driveable to the top (more or less). We did see one gate but it had clearly been mangled into what looks to be a permanently open position. We continued up the road and soon reached the end of the road as mapped after taking the L fork at the last junction. A little bit of annoying wet brush and partial snow cover but no real problems for the short finale in the woods. Minor brush and the usual flattish summit. No views on this day. No problems. All public land. As long as you can drive to the base of the mtn then this one is easy. Admittedly, the Big Muffin also has no real redeeming qualities either except for being another peak.
