Climber: Dennis Poulin

Date:Saturday, November 6, 2010
Ascent Type:Successful Summit Attained
Peak:Squaw Mountain
    Elevation:5300 ft / 1615 m

Ascent Trip Report

I approached Squaw Mountain from Upper Applegate Road and then turning on FR 20 towards Squaw Mountain. In 3.6 miles I turned right onto gravel FR 2010. In 4.8 miles I passed the road that goes up to the fire lookout on Squaw Peak and continued on FR 2010 until I reached a saddle on a point 8.0 miles from FR 20. I turned onto an obscure seldom used road marked 2010-680 and followed it down to a saddle just west of the high point form Squaw Mountain. The road was kind of brushy so I parked and hiked up the road towards the high point. The road passes just south of the high point, so I hiked up the slope to the summit. There are some views here, but most of them are blocked by trees.
