Ascent Trip Report

Hike started at 7:20am and ended at 2:30pm. Conditions were muddy for the first few miles and slowly changed to ice and then snow along the Garfield Ridge and the summit of Garfield. Mike stepped in a stream during one of the crossings on the Gale River Trail but that did not dampen his spirits or interfere. We used Micro Points for the top half of the trip as we would not have been able to navigate the slippery Garfield Ridge without them. Weather and wind were fine while in the protection of the trees. Wind was 30+ mph on the actual summit of Garfield. Ascent was trick up the Garfield Ridge Trail right before the Garfield Campsite.
