Ascent Trip Report

I drove up the toll road to The Nose and then hiked out the Long Trail to the high point of Mt Mansfield on The Chin. I continued northeast past The Chin to the Adams Apple and combined the hiking stats on the Mt Mansfield trip report. Inspite of the windy cold day, there were still about 100 people on the mountain this day. The trail had spots that were icy and I had to be careful to avoid slipping in those areas. Fantastic views. The route from The Chin down to the Chin/Adams Apple saddle is Class 3 in spots and was also icy. Still there were children and dogs on the Class 3 route.
