Ascent of Peak 4340 on 2010-09-26
|Date:||Sunday, September 26, 2010|
|Ascent Type:||Successful Summit Attained|
| Elevation:||4340 ft / 1322 m|
Ascent Trip ReportI approached peak 4340 from Willow Lake. I took the road that passes the east side of Willow Lake and then continued up the road that goes up Willow Creek. There was a sign indicating there was logging ahead, but on a Sunday no one was working. I drove up to where there was some logging equipment parked at a point where the road takes a sharp switchback to the left. I backed down about a 100 ft and took an old logging road to the right. It crossed the creek and ended. Hike to the left at the fork, beat a little brush and climb up until you are in an open old logged area. Follow the logged area up to the summit. There are 2-3 large boulders that contend for the high point. Great view of Mt McLoughlin.
