Ascent Trip Report

I approached Bessie Rock from the town of Prospect. I drove out the Prospect-Butte Falls Hwy and then turned left on paved FR 37. I turned left on FR 3795 and then left on FR 700 and drove to the rock quarry at the end of the road. From here I could see the summit might be a steep rock climb. I hiked up to the base of the rock and didn't see any easy route to the summit. It looks like a steep Class 5.?? climb and I did not have a rope with me. I will have to come back prepared to climb about 150 ft to the summit from the base of the rock. It looks like the route used to have ladders bolted to the rock, but they have been removed.
