Ascent Type:Successful Summit Attained
Peak:Mount Moses
    Elevation:8649 ft / 2636 m

Ascent Trip Report

I accessed Mt Moses from the east off of Hwy 305 using Fish Creek Road from the Valley of the Moon area. I went left at the ranch and then left at the two car garage near Daisy Pass. I drove all the way up to a microwave tower site on the summit of Peak 8420 and then on to another microwave tower site about a half mile south towards Mt Moses. I continued past the second tower until the road faded near a barb wire fence above the north ridge of Mt Moses. I hiked down the ridge losing about 700 ft and then back up to the summit of Mt Moses. Nice views. No technical difficulties on the hike, but had to sidehill some and climb around a couple of rocky outcroppings. There is an old abandoned barb wire fence to follow most of the way along the ridge. Note on the way driving back out I went north into the Buffalo Valley and the roads were much better than the Fish creek route.
