Ascent Trip ReportI drove in on the Blue Lakes Road in the dark and somehow found the Wet Meadows Reservoir and the trailhead at the end of the road. This road gets rougher the further you go. Indian Valley road 097 is probably 4WD. The trailhead is 300 yards from the PCT and it is marked and a good trail. I follwed it to the PCT and then the PCT for a short ways to an unmarked trail that goes southeast towards Raymond Peak. This trail is through open country for a ways and then kind of ends when it reaches a forested area. From the TR I was follwing I assumed that I should hike up to the low point in the ridgeline ahead. It seemed to be a long way from the peak, but I did climb to the saddle. This was wrong. The ridgeline is full of large rocky blocks that are serious obstructions. I dropped back into the valley to the west and traversed towards the summit of Raymond Peak. I stayed below the ridge and found easy steep slopes to climb all the way to the summit. When I got closer to the summit, I found climbers trails that helped me find the summit. Great views.
