Ascent Trip Report

Backcountry tree skiing in concrete snow on substandard gear (Ramer bindings, Kofflach boots, narrow skis)--definitely not my finest hour as a skier. I had trouble making turns down low where the snow was heavy. The weather was pretty bad, too. We made it to the ridge only (Point 5165) and clearly there was no point in going further.

A fun group of Mountaineers though--I carpooled with a guy who came to my apartment on the bus with his skis and everything! I felt sorry for him and gave him a ride to his U-district place on the way home.
