Ascent Trip ReportSugarpine Mtn is a drive up to a manned fire lookout. Great views from the summit. The fire lookout was nice and friendly and fed the chipmunks while we were there. To access Sugarpine Mtn you need a map. One way up is to take Hwy 97 to Beaver Marsh and then FR 86 to the east. Other roads we accessed were 88, 8608, 8816, and finally 370 that goes to the summit. All good roads. The benchmarks for Sugarpine are located east of the lookout about 100 yds in a pile of rocks, but the high point appeared to be northwest from the lookout in another pile of rocks that he called "buzzard roost" but there is a silve benchmark inscribed "camera point" on those rocks.
