Ascent of Peak 4806 on 2010-08-30
|Date:||Monday, August 30, 2010|
|Ascent Type:||Successful Summit Attained|
| Elevation:||4806 ft / 1464 m|
Ascent Trip ReportI accessed Peak 4806 from Dead Indian Memorial Road and Shale City Road. Peak 4806 is a few miles north of Peak 5470 and there is a maze of logging roads that cover this area. Unfortunately, the roads deteriorate the closer you get to Peak 4806. You can probably access Peak 4806 from the South Fork Little Butte Creek off of Hwy 140 also. The roads I used deteriorated to 4WD and if wet would be a mud bog. Fortunately todays rain had not turned them to mud yet. I finally stopped east of Peak 4806 where it shows 4612T on the topo. If you drive into this area, make sure you have a good map. I hiked up the road to the summit area and then left the road and bushwhacked about 100yds to the high point. this area has been logged and replanted with a dense stand of pine trees. No views because of the forest and it was raining.
