Ascent Trip Report

A rather long one day outing, though very doable. Left Lena Lake trail head at 6:45, made Lena Lake at 7:50 (3.0 miles), "The Junction" at 9:30 (6.2 miles), and the end of the "trail" at 10:00. Summit was attained at 13:30. At 11:38 we encountered the mountain guardian, his wife, and child (another mountain goat at about 10 ft!). Cloudy conditions prevented easy route finding, though other climbers on their way down (a.k.a. the voice of God) called through the fog and guided us in the right direction. Top snowfield unnecessary to cross, though we did anyway (not knowing the conditions at the top end), feeling very exposed as we did (40 deg slope, hard and slick). Followed same route out.
