Ascent Trip ReportThis is Day-5 hiking event which we hiked from Colden Dam Lean-to to the parking lot at Upper Works. On the way to hike out, we decided to peakbag Mt Marshall.
We left Lean-to around 9AM and got to the trailhead(herd path again!) around 9:30-40ish. We dropped our backpacks and bear cannisters at the base of the Mt Marshall. It was approx. 2 miles hike and herd path crosses brooks many times. It wasn't very difficult to keep track of herd path but I did de-railed from herd path several times and Ken corrected me to the right way to go.
On the way to the summit, when we took a breat and looked backward, we could clearly saw Algonquin summit. It was so beautiful mountain view which I'll never forget.
It took 2 hours or so to get to the Marshall summit. After passing summit sign, we proceeded path toward to left a little bit where we could see nice view of South side from Marshall. We met 5 or so hikers at Marshall.
We hiked on Calamity Brook Trail and reached to the parking lot at Upper Works around 3PM. I had to take a rest a couple of times on the way.
