Ascent Trip Report

The intent of this trip was to complete the "Aneroid Traverse" by traversing the rim around Aneroid Lake. This trip was cut short by horrible June weather. We first climbed Mt. Howard, then waited two nights for the snow to quit before finally giving in and climbing over East Peak before finding a camping spot below the East Peak South (Aneroid Mountain North on PBC)/Aneroid saddle. After setting up camp three of us headed for the summit of Aneroid in the raging snowstorm, successfully summitting before returning. The next morning's weather was much better, but it was too late by then to complete the traverse so we headed for home. Two or three weeks later we returned to complete the traverse by re-climbing Aneroid from the west before heading for Petes Point and Bonneville Mountain.
