Ascent Trip ReportA few miles S of the town of Scottsbluff in western NE is the Scotts Bluff National Monument, whose primary physical feature is Scotts Bluff, a 500' high limestone outcrop that was used for navigation by pioneers on the Oregon and Mormon Trails. Pay $5 to enter the NM and drive an auto road to a parking lot near the summit, or hike the 1.9 mile, 500' EG Saddle Rock trail to the summit.
