Ascent Trip Report

This is a fun peak to take the family to and have a picnic. The road up from the little town of Imnaha is long and the first section is steep. A sign said it was a 16% grade, but 2WD should be good unless it has snow. There is a manned fire lookout on the high point with great views of the Snake River over a mile below and then into Idaho to the east. The tower was being inspected for safety when I was there. It is safe and there are over 100 stairs to get to the observation platform.
