Ascent Trip ReportWe were attempting to bag 6 Idaho counties this day, so were in a big hurry to get this fourth one of the day. Throwing caution to the wind, I coaxed the 4Runner up a steep rocky section in the road leading toward Mount Davis. Water was running down the road in this section like a stream, and it didn't occur to me that Idaho Gumbo could be just at the top of the pitch. To make a long story short, the 4Runner bogged down in the mud clear up to the axles, and we were forced to set up our tent and camp until help arrived the following day to get us out. Maybe someday I can write the whole story. Even with only four counties, however, we still hold the record for the most CoHPs in Idaho in a day with 4.
