Ascent Trip ReportMy girlfriend and I went on this hike with 6 other friends. We stayed at the Waterest Campground in Woodstock the night before. We drove to the trailhead, and got started at about 10:30 AM.
We took the Old Bridle Path up, and took a short break when the trees first give way just before the "agonies". We got to Greenleaf Hut, and spent about 30-45 minutes eating lunch, refilling our water, and resting. The rest of the hike to the summit was in the beautiful, above treeline Alpine Zone. Once at the summit we took in the views for 15 minutes or so, and then headed along the ridge to Mount Lincoln.
We were a bit disappointed once we could see the summit, because it seemed to be in a cloud. Despite a bit of fogginess past the Greenleaf Hut, the weather cleared by the time we reached the summit, giving us great views.
