Ascent of Elkhorn Peak on 2010-05-29
|Date:||Saturday, May 29, 2010|
|Ascent Type:||Successful Summit Attained|
| Elevation:||4660 ft / 1420 m|
Ascent Trip ReportI approached Elkhorn Peak from Elk Creek Road, Sugar Pine Road, and Elhorn Ridge Road. The spur that goes to Elkhorn Peak took me right to the summit area. I thin the high point is on top of a gravel pile left over from a rock crushing operation. There is another small 10 ft high mound in the forest behind the rock pile. this mound is thick with small trees and may not be a natural feature either. Otherwise the summit area is kind of flat and forested.
