Ascent Trip ReportI approached Peak 3260 from Elk Creek Road, Sugar Pine Road, and then turned left on a lesser road where I drove through Elkhorn Creek and under the electric power transmission lines. I turned west off this road on a marginal road that was grass covered and seldom used. I wouldn't drive this road if it was wet, but I did today. It took me up along the west side of Peak 3260 and its southerly neighbor Peak 3180. I found an old overgrown logging road that headed up to the 3180/3260 saddle, so I parked and followed it up to the saddle. At the saddle I left this old road and turned south and climbed Peak 3180 then I came back to the saddle and followed the old overgrown road up the south ridge of Peak 3260. this is really a bushwhack that includes poison oak. Once the road reaches the summit ridge, it isn't quite so brushy and I followed it along until I had to leave it for a few hundred feet to climb to the high point. It was brushy again for this part. The summit is in a grove of California Live Oak trees and is kind of pretty, but there are no views. I combined the hiking stats and entered them on Peak 3180.
