Peak:Esmond Mountain

    Elevation:4902 ft / 1494 m

Ascent Trip Report

I drove up from Hwy 140 using the Wasson Canyon Road. I drove up past the high point until I was north of the peak and then took another road back to the summit area. I parked on a spur right in the the contour that contains the high point. This area has been logged and replanted. The trees are about 20 ft tall and limit the visibility. I had set a waypoint in my GPS, so I wandered around in the forest until I was confident that I visited all the rocks and dirt piles that contend for high point honors. No views because of the trees. Thunder and lightning were close by, so I called it a day and went home.
