Ascent Trip ReportI accessed Robinson Butte from Hwy 140. I turned on paved Big Elk Rd and then in about 2 miles turned up the road to the fire lookout on the summit of Robinson Butte. The road was blocked by snow drifts about a mile up the road where there is a gate. The gate was open, but it may be locked in the summer. I hiked up the road to the summit. It is a pleasant hike through a healthy looking forest. On the summit there is a fire lookout, a nice modern outhouse, and a cell phone tower. There are some rocks next to the cell tower enclosure that appeared to be the highest point. I'm sure there are good views from the top of the fire lookout, but I didn't go up there.
