Ascent of Peak 3570 on 2010-05-15
|Date:||Saturday, May 15, 2010|
|Ascent Type:||Successful Summit Attained|
| Elevation:||3570 ft / 1088 m|
Ascent Trip ReportI accessed Peak 3570 from the West Branch Elk Creek Road and Moline Creek Road. I found a spur road on the northwest side of the peak that was quite overgrown, but I followed it for .8 mile to where it ends. There is no trail going to Peak 3570, it is all crosscountry under a forest canopy. The forest service cut me a break here and they thinned the forest, so it is easy hiking with no real bushwhacking. The route is straight forward up and down the ridge to the high point. Point 3450 has a big rock face that I bypassed on the north side. On the way back I climbed up the easy east side of point 3450 and out onto the rocky high point. My GPS indicated that this point is only about 10 ft shorter than the high point of peak 3570. There are several small intevening hills between where I parked and the high point. It adds a lot to the elevation gain for Peak 3570
