Ascent of Willy Rock on 2010-05-15

Climber: Dennis Poulin

Date:Saturday, May 15, 2010
Ascent Type:Successful Summit Attained
Peak:Willy Rock
    Location:USA-Oregon
    Elevation:3910 ft / 1191 m

Ascent Trip Report

I accessed Willy Rock from West Branch Elk Creek Road and then Moline Creek Road. I found a little spur road off of Moline Creek Road on the northwest side of the summit. I only drove up this spur about a hundred yards and parked. I followed this old road bed up to where it ends and then a quad trail to the right up to the top of the west ridge line. From there it was cross country under a forest canopy and through some brush up to the forested summit. Nice old growth trees on the summit. I walked out to the south side of the summit area and could see Medford in the distance. On the south side there is a cliff a couple hundred feet tall that comes up to the summit.
