Ascent of North Carter Mountain on 1996-06-30| Date: | Sunday, June 30, 1996 | | Ascent Type: | Successful Summit Attained | | Peak: | North Carter Mountain | | Location: | USA-New Hampshire | | Elevation: | 4520 ft / 1377 m |
Ascent Trip ReportPlans to stay at Imp shelter dashed by it being completely full. This was the night when I cooked up the macaroni and then spilled it all on the ground. The gravel and pine needles added an interesting flavor. We ended up camping in the woods just below Moriah's cliffs. The next morning we watched receeding storm clouds from the top of the cliffs and witnessed a spectacular sight as the whole carter range came into and then out of the clouds for only a few seconds. I was quick and lucky enough to snap quite the kick ass picture during this window.
