Ascent Trip Report

Kearsarge South is a short, moderately steep hike with great views and a nice fire tower at the summit.

We will hike the Winslow Trail to the summit which affords 360 degree views of Mount Monadnock, the Boston skyline, the White Mountains, Lake Winnipesaukee and the mountains of Vermont and Maine.

There is a fire tower at the top which is one of only sixteen active fire lookout towers in New Hampshire.

Our descent to the parking lot will be via the Barlow Trail
