Hi, I'm a 22 year old climber from Midcoast Maine. I first got interested in the hiking world around 2014, when I began exploring the 4000' peaks in Maine. I ventured slowly into the White Mountains of New Hampshire, where I found the mountain spirit of the Presidential Range. I continue to learn about gear and clothing systems so I can climb mountains year round. As many people do, I have some big mountain goals, some of which I've attempted, some of which I've conquered, and others that I have yet to try. A road trip across the US in 2015 led me to some very exciting mountains that I would never have otherwise found.

A joke started a few years ago that I should be called Hillimanjaro, a twist on the famous Mt. Kilimanjaro and my last name. It has stuck, and it appears that is my trail name now. My favorite mountains and mountain experiences are these:
• Mount Borah, ID - I've yet to summit but I've attempted twice, and I feel there is a connection on that mountain, so I must go again.
• Presidential Traverse, NH - I tried this on a whim in 2015 and it was spectacular, an entire 16 hours on the most beautiful range the northeast has to offer
• Mount Hood, OR - four months of planning and a quick week of vacation allowed me to summit this wonderful volcano in February 2016. I'll be back!
• Mt Katahdin, ME - I've worked on trail crew in Baxter State park, where I got to know Mt. Katahdin, and it, like Borah, has a powerful pull on me to come back again and again.
